Drinking enough is something you should do to lose weight and improve your fitness. There are several great quality drinks out there that you can prepare which will help you with weight-loss and which will also detox your body at the same time. Today I will introduce the list of 9 delicious home-made detox drinks that you should drink to stay fit or to lose weight.
As I referred to it most of these drinks are healthy and are also really tasty, so you can have a great time preparing and drinking them.
- PURIFIED WATER
- HOME-MADE LEMONADE WITH ORANGE SLICES
- HOT GREEN TEA
- ICE GREEN TEA
- UNSWEETENED COFFEE WITH A BIT OF ALMOND MILK
- ANTIOXIDANT SMOOTHIE
- COCONUT WATER WITH WATERMELON SLICES AND FRESH MINT
- CUCUMBER REFRESMENT
- APPLE AND CINNAMON DETOX DRINK
1. PURIFIED WATER
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day which is necessary for global health and fitness. Drinking water is the basic rule that allows you to implement a successful weight-loss, to get rid of cellulite, and to stay healthy.
However, if you want to have more a culinary experience then let’s go to the next 8 delicious home-made detox drinks that you can drink to get healthy and fit.
2. HOME-MADE LEMONADE WITH ORANGE SLICES
Home-made lemonade is simple to make.
All you need is to add these items to purified water:
- Cut up a half lemon and squeeze the juice into the container
- Put the orange slices into the container
- Pour purified water into the container
- Pour some honey into the container
Your home-made lemonade is ready to drink 😊
Since a water container is usually at least 16 oz by drinking all the lemonade you have already consumed 25% of the daily minimum water intake.
3. HOT GREEN TEA
There are a number of health reasons why you should definitely include green tea to the list of drinks you should drink to get fit.
- Besides purified water, green tea is a big help for your weight-loss. A study from Canada revealed that those participants who consumed green tea during the 12 weeks of the research lost on average 0.2 to 3.5 kg more than the ones who did not drink green tea (1.).
- Green tea has antioxidants that can slow down aging and boost metabolism, just to mention a couple of essential health reasons.
If you are not a big fan of green tea because you tried it and didn’t like the taste, don’t worry because there are ways to make it more appealing and tasty.
According to my experience, you can improve the taste of any drink by using the right ingredients. My personal favorite is to add honey or maple syrup to give the green tea a better taste. You can also add a few slices of lemon if you prefer. Using a pretty cup as in the picture above can make the experience much better for you.
4. ICE GREEN TEA
Like any tea, you can also drink green tea in an iced version. The good news is that you can make it as tasty as those regular ice teas you buy in the grocery store.
However, the ice green tea I will talk about now is not just healthier than the ones in the stores, but it is also much cheaper since you are making it yourself. Trust me it will taste even better than the store-bought alternatives.

5. UNSWEETENED COFFEE
Unsweetened coffee with a little bit of almond milk is one of my personal favorites in the morning. It is not just healthier than the usual Starbucks coffee but actually tastes really good as well.
If you like coffee in the morning then you are lucky because it increases metabolism and contains caffeine which will support your weight-loss.
I usually use 70% water and 30% almond milk for my morning coffee and I love it. 😊
6. ANTIOXIDANT SMOOTHIE
The antioxidant smoothie is number six on my drink list and the reason I call it antioxidant is because it also includes blueberries and spinach. It is actually one of the healthiest snacks and is great for weight loss.
All you need is to combine the following items in a blender:
- one banana
- a handful of blueberries,
- two handfuls of spinach,
- 1/3 a cup of almond milk and a cup of water.
7. COCONUT WATER WITH WATERMELON SLICES AND FRESH MINT
When watermelon is in season this drink makes a great alternative to satisfy part of the minimum 8 glasses of purified water a day rule by drinking something amazing.
You can use purified water, but it is highly recommended to use coconut water if you want to try something special.
Obviously, you will put watermelon slices and fresh mint in coconut water, but Joanna Soh has a great tutorial about the process of making this drink. The recipe for this drink will start at 0.36.
8. CUCUMBER REFRESHMENT
It is very easy to add cucumber to your diet and it also has great health benefits through its antioxidants and hydration affects. There is medical proof that eating cucumber will decrease the chance of getting cancer and cardiovascular disease. (2.)
All you have to do is peel a whole cucumber, slicing it up, and putting the slices in a water container.
I recommend adding a few pieces of ginger as well to spice up the drink.
Note also that ginger has some great health benefits such as treating morning sickness, helping with osteoarthritis, and muscle pain. Furthermore, it reduces the blood sugar level and the chance of getting heart disease (3.).
So if you don’t dislike ginger I would definitely add it. You may cut up some ginger and put the pieces in the water container.
You might also add 4 or 5 slices of lime to make it taste better.
Then fill the the water container with purified water and the drink is ready. 😊
9. APPLE AND CINNAMON DETOX DRINK
The apple and cinnamon drink can satisfy part of your daily drink requirement.
Both apple and cinnamon are rich in antioxidants and they usually go very well together in either the form of a drink or a meal.
Cinnamon is known to be beneficial for people with diabetes because it lowers blood sugar levels and sugar craving as well. That is why it is a great ingredient for weight-loss.
