7 ANTI-AGING FOODS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR SKIN LOOK YOUNGER

Being in great shape after the age of 30 is an achievement you can be really proud of. However, you might want to combine all-in-one and make sure your fitness foods will make you look younger longer as well. Let me introduce you to 7 anti-aging foods that not only keep you in great shape but also make your skin look younger.

As an ACE Certified Professional, your safety is extremely important to me. If you have or have had any health issues, operations, or injuries it is especially important to consult with your doctor and make sure all these tips mentioned within this post are healthy for you to do.

1. AVOCADO

Avocado has been mentioned already when I was talking about my 4 favorite healthy brunch recipes for weight-loss. However, I have to mention it at the top of the lists when it comes to anti-aging foods.

Avocado is definitely great for weight loss because it contains a healthy type of monounsaturated fat. But the same fat provides you with essential vitamins (E and C) that are helpful for your skin. (1.)

2. BROCCOLI

BROCCOLI is another mentioned food when it comes to having younger-looking skin or nutrition for longevity.

The reasons for its popularity are the following:

*rich in vitamin C and K, which are two of the 4 most important vitamins for  healthy skin, since vitamin C produces collagen, which is the main protein for the skin (2.)

*rich in antioxidants, which are known to be important for global health through the prevention of cell damage (3.)

*fiber which supports weight loss and your global health through proper digestion

So make sure that you regularly add some broccoli to your healthy dinner.

3. SWEET POTATOES

SWEET POTATOES should also be on your longevity diet list.

First of all its orange color as in the case of carrots, comes from beta-carotene which is converted to Vitamin A.

An American study showed middle-aged women with more wrinkles had a lower amount of Vitamin A intake (4.).

Sweet potato is also a great type of carb that you will need for a healthy weight-loss, so make sure you include it with your source of healthy protein and fat (from avocado) in your healthy dinner.

4. BLUEBERRIES

After mentioning a few anti-aging vegetables, let’s not forget about fruits. Blueberries must be mentioned when we are talking about 7 anti-aging foods for the following reasons:

*High in Vitamin C and A, which as I mentioned before are known to be helpful for your skin.

* Rich in antioxidants which are supporting the health of your cells.

Make sure you consume blueberries at least on an every other day basis because it is very easy to include them in your healthy breakfast or detox drinks or eat as a fitness snack.

5. NUTS

I have many reasons why I choose nuts over many other foods that might make your skin look younger:

  • As a weight-loss blogger I look at the health and fitness benefits of food, and nuts have a ton of them: for instance nuts are a great source of healthy protein and both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. So my vegan friends nuts are a winner.
  • As a result of healthy monounsaturated fats nuts, especially almonds, which are high in Vitamin E has an important role in skin elasticity.

6. SALMON

As I have already mentioned nuts are a great source of protein for vegans, but let’s not forget about people who love seafood, specifically SALMON.

The main skin benefit of salmon is that it is rich in omega-3 fat that helps you maintain healthy skin for a number of reasons. EPA and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids that fish provide. Studies show that these polyunsaturated acids might be helpful for the skin with regards to UV exposure, which has a detrimental effect on the skin (5.).

That is the reason why you often hear that if you want to look younger stay out of the sun.

2-3 servings of salmon a week is considered to be the way to go for a healthy eating routine.

7. DARK CHOCOLATE

Finally, let’s not forget about my friends with a sweet tooth.

If you want to incorporate a really healthy dessert in your healthy eating habits, then put DARK CHOCOLATE on your longevity diet list.

First of all, this great snack has a high level of antioxidants which we already know has a big role when it comes to nutrition for longevity.

Please note that you should consider putting dark chocolate with at least 70-85% cocoa on your longevity diet list. A 100-gram piece of dark chocolate with this amount of cocoa contains important minerals and Vitamins that play a big role in your younger-looking skin, such as:

*ZINC, COPPER, AND SELENIUM  are  considered essential minerals for skin health promotion especially when it comes to protecting the skin from UV rays (6.)

*VITAMIN A and VITAMIN C are also included in a bar of dark chocolate. As was mentioned before Vitamin C has a major role in collagen production. No wonder that Vitamin C is a very popular ingredient of Anti Aging Skin Care Products.

So this was my summary of 7 anti-aging foods that not only play a big role in weight-loss and fitness but also promote younger-looking skin for a longer time. Good luck with them!
