Why should you eat salmon?
Eating at least 8 oz salmon per week is recommended by the USDA guidelines because of the global health and fitness benefits of this food thanks to
- omega 3 fatty acids which are helpful in terms of reducing the chance of heart disease and anxiety
- high protein which is important for weight balance and for healthy muscles
- Vitamin B for cell health and brain function
- and potassium for a good blood pressure
I usually add sweet potatoes and broccoli when it comes to salmon recipes.
The main reason why I am suggesting you eat sweet potatoes on a regular basis is that sweet potato is one of the best choices when it comes to carbs since you need to add carbs for a well-balanced diet.
Why do I say that you should replace potatoes with sweet potatoes especially for weight management? Sweet potatoes include
- dietary fiber
- nutritious in terms of Vitamin A, B6, and C. (1.)
Adding broccoli as your veggie to this dinner is a great match. One cup of broccoli contains only 15 calories and has a tremendous amount of nutrients, such as antioxidants, essential vitamins, and minerals (2.).
So after discussing all the benefits of salmon recipes, let’s get into my easy salmon recipe, below!
Boil water in a small pot with the broccoli in it and turn on the oven as well. The broccoli should be cooked for between 20-25 minutes. When the water starts boiling don't forget to put the heat on low.
While the water is being boiled cut the sweet potato into very thin slices after washing it.
Pour some coconut oil into a pan and turn on the stove to medium heat and leave it there for a minute. During this minute pour a little garlic salt on the sweet potato slices then place them into the pan.
While the sweet potato slices and the broccoli are being cooked spice up the salmon, place it on a non-stick baking sheet, and put it in the oven, and leave it there for 25 minutes.
Right after you place the salmon into the oven, flip the sweet potato slices in the pan, then cook all part of it. Every five minutes flip them again.
When the 25 minutes is over for the broccoli then leave it in the pot without any heat on and place a lid on the top.
When the sweet potatoes are cooked turn off the stove and leave them in the pan by placing a lid on the top.
When the salmon is done, then you can serve the meal, this is how it should look and it tastes amazing.
